Extreme Weather in the Village

This week (in July 22) the UK experienced some extreme weather with a record temperature of 40.3C. Back in 1968 the village had weather conditions of a different extreme.  This series of photos shows some floods which causes a few problems, but didn't dampen the spirits of the villagers.

The flood at the King's Head corner introduced a Continental approach to driving to navigate the floods.  The Austin is the Algar's milk van and the Morris 1000 Traveller is living up to its name. Note the King's Head had two entrances at this time.

The same view in 2022 when, remarkably, there appears to be less traffic.  A fast shutter speed was used on the camera.

Meantime, down at the bottom of Dullingham Ley the floods made life difficult.
